Encrypted I, 2016
Digital drawing - Fine art print on Canson Rag, 100% cotton, 310 gsm, archival paper
60 x 60 cm
Encrypted I are a series of three digital prints in response to theme encryption. The final visuals are derived from details of scanned fingerprints, a recognisable form that is present, yet individual, in all. Through the use of digital manipulation, and further play on composition, a completely new reality of the original matter has been created. In this case, not only have the subject matter’s elemental properties been encrypted but, from a more conceptual standpoint, so has the individual’s mark of identity. Aesthetically, the prints aim to find an element of harmony within their chaotic enclosed compositions, through the use of varying formal and linear weight.
